Butterfly Dragon (German: Schmetterlings-Drache; Spanish: Dragón mariposa; French: Dragon Papillon; Japanese: バタフライ; Russian: Дракон-Бабочка; Turkish: Kelebek Ejderhası) is the first entry for Explorer. Butterfly Dragon is a Common Dragon with the primary typing of Nature. Butterfly Dragon can also learn Flame moves.

Release this magical dragon onto your island and enjoy her mesmerizing beauty! You will never be able to catch her, but given her fiery temper, maybe this dragon is best appreciated from afar.

Trivia
- The Butterfly Dragon was previously available as a Special Release Dragon, obtainable through reaching Level 20 in another Social Point game, Social Empires.
- It was made breedable on 18 Feb 2014 as part of the Sky Master Collection in the Dragon Book Update.
- The Butterfly Dragon shares the same metamorphosis process as normal butterflies as it starts out as a Dragon-caterpillar at its infant stage, except that it skips the Pupa stage.
Issues with Obtaining
Obtaining the Butterfly Dragon might not work if you are using Google Chrome as your internet browser. It does work if you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
- If you are having difficulty obtaining the dragon after reaching Level 20 in Social Empires, try the following steps.
- Click on the BUILD button. Find the Butterfly Dragon in the store and click "Get Dragon!"
- Allow Social Empires to open in a new window or tab (make sure your pop-up blocker allows it).
- Refresh the window or tab with Dragon City open while Social Empires is also open. The red "Requires: Level 10 in SOCIAL EMPIRES" text should now be gone when you find the dragon in BUILD.
- Click "Get Dragon!" to make the dragon egg appear in your hatchery or storage.
- If that does not work, try to play a mission in Social Empires and then withdraw from that mission, open your Dragon City and see what happens.
NOTE: Sometimes it does not work on Web kit engine of web browsers like Chrome and Safari. Try using Presto, Gecko web browser engine like Firefox, and Opera.
